The festival celebrates three inspiring voices who, through their films and commitments, explore resilience in the face of today’s challenges. Lesia Diak, Dr. Dixon Chibanda, and Edyta Wroblewska immerse us in stories of reconstruction, healing, and hope, showing how art and innovation can transform trauma into strength. Their works invite us to reflect and act, celebrating the human capacity to overcome adversity.

 Lesia Diak

Lesia Diak, activist and director of the film Dad’s Lullaby, will discuss how to rebuild onesleft after war reconstruction in Ukraine. She will address the emotional and social challenges tied to healing, demonstrating how documentaries can become tools for rebuilding and resilience, integrating into people’s lives.

Dr. Dixon Chibanda

Dr. Dixon Chibanda, a psychiatrist from Zimbabwe, will speak about depression, one of the great afflictions of our century. He will present his innovative approach, combining community and intergenerational support. He will highlight the crucial role of intergenerational relationships, exemplified by his program where a team of grandmothers provides essential support to save lives and strengthen mental health.

Edyta Wroblewska

Edyta Wroblewska, director of the film When Harmattan Blows, explores with remarkable depth the theme of resilience after profound trauma. Through her work, she examines the healing process and the strength of a woman rebuilding her life after experiencing abuse and violence. The film reveals how she refuses to be defined by her traumatic past and finds the courage to confront those who have harmed her.
