Synopsis
Here we get to know several door-to-door Bible salesmen. Their mission is convincing people to buy what they present as “the best-selling book in the world”. They are followed over a few months in their tragi-comic adventures by the light cameras of the pioneers of direct cinema, with particular focus on Paul Brennan, a veteran who has lost faith in the business and who is having a hard time getting rid of his stock with gullible buyers. This film is a raw documentary that breaks into the intimacy of the protagonists’ faith trade. Salesman, an important piece of direct cinema, opens the panorama “Everything for Sale” of the Millenium Festival.
