Eckart was born in West Germany in 1941. The very first memory he has of his father is the sound of soldiers’ boots on the stairs as he waited impatiently for his return. It wasn’t until he was a teenager that Eckart became aware of everything that had happened during the war and began to question his father’s role.

Trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Tournai, Pascale Hecquet is the author of some fifteen short animated films that have toured cinemas and festivals. The director pays particular attention to films for young audiences, with a desire both to make people laugh and to take a whimsical approach to subjects that are important to children, such as helping each other, sharing, friendship and even gluttony… She has recently tried her hand at making animated documentaries, which allow viewers to immerse themselves in authentic pieces of life and to hear the voice of another person.
