Synopsis
At the beginning of the 90s, civilian volunteers, who come from the same village, choose to take up arms to fight and free their land. Each of them weave their shared story, one by one. In this village, the war is still silently and heavily weighing on the day-to-day life.
Biografie van de regisseur
Comes Chahbazian, father of Serli, Biayna and Dzovinar, lives and works in Brussels. Self-taught, he has written and directed two short fiction films: Untitled and Y.U.L., both filmed in New York in 2000. Y.U.L. was screened at the Venice International Film Festival in 2002. His documentary, Ici-Bas (Down Here) was filmed in Yerevan and has been shown at festivals including Cinéma du Réel and Visions du Réel. Rhythm & Inter-vals, shot in Berlin, was presented at the FIFA in Montreal in 2017. Notre Village was filmed in Artsakh (Na-gorno-Karabakh) and is his most recent work.
