Synopsis
With a diverse group of teenage girls, Ukrainian-born Emilia takes part in a climbing camp for the first time in her new home country. This adventurous experience will be even more challenging for Emilia, as she and her family had to flee Ukraine for Belgium a year ago. Before the trip, Emilia is extremely nervous: Will she be able to express herself and connect with the other girls? Will she manage to reach the summit?

Laura De Baudringhien obtained her Master’s degree in 2022 with the documentary ‘From Moerbeke with Love’ at the RITCS arts school in Brussels. She previously obtained a master’s degree in social and cultural anthropology at the University of Louvain. This interesting combination of audiovisual arts and anthropology is reflected in her self-reflexive approach and in the way she tackles certain societal issues. A more feminist perspective on stereotypical representations is a common thread in her work.
