Synopsis

Dolni Tsibar is a village on the banks of the Danube in north-western Bulgaria, the EU’s poorest area. 99% of the villagers are gypsies. However, the locals have made a name for themselves due to their love for learning, and the media mockingly call the village ‘Roma Cambridge’. The film follows the everyday life of people in the village over the course of one year.
