Synopsis

For forty years, Angola was plagued by devastating armed conflicts that ended in 2002. Shot and recorded in the capital, Luanda, in January 2000, in a tense atmosphere and difficult conditions, Canta Angola bears witness to a creativity that resists despair. Artists continue to create music that reflects the feelings and aspirations of an entire people. Their songs, dances and ballads carry the desire and energy to live beyond survival. 

Featuring musicians Lourdes Van Dunem, Carlos Burity, Carlitos Vieira Dias, Paulo Flores, Moisés et José Kafala, Banda Maravilha, Simmons Massini, Betinho Feijo among others.
