Synopsis
An Ethiopian family that was found to be HIV-positive gives its two children to adoption to a Danish family. During four years, the director followed the consequences by entering into the most intimate experience of both the parents and the children. How the biological parents live with the guilt? Are the new parents prepared for the adoption of children coming from another culture? How can the children protect their identities in a different cultural context? Mercy Mercy is one of the deepest and most beautiful films about adoption.
