Synopsis
Summer 2008. A year before the 8-billion-dollar hydroelectric project is launched, Alexis de Gheldere and Nicolas Boisclair decide to travel by canoe the Romaine River with two other ecologists. All they have is a wood stove, two solar panels and a 2,500-page environmental impact assessment. Together, they explore the river and its tributaries, and find out the consequences of the hydroelectric project. Each kilometre is the discovery of an extraordinary ecosystem still wild. At the same time, they examine how Québec today produces and uses its energy. Some questions remain unanswered, for they go and see specialists and experienced people who reveal surprising confidences regarding green energy and its current development in Québec. It seems a considerable commercial potential hides behind all this, and it’s only the beginning…
