Synopsis
In one of the world´s highest volcanos, the Chimborazo, Baltazar Ushka has been working for more than thirty years now. His job is to chop and transport the ice, the little ice that the volcano is able to maintain despite global warming. Little dressed and poorly equipped,Baltazar Ushka transports his huge blocks of ice to the aboriginal market in Guaranda where he sells them for pennies to people who use them to cool fruit juices. This documentary travels throughtime in a circular way, consistent with the indigenous worldview, to create a life´s portrait of the last Chimborazo Ice Man.
