Synopsis
After the Chernobyl disaster in 1986, one of the worst environmental disasters in history, residents refused to integrate into an exclusion zone. They persisted in living on their lands, perpetuating their tradition and tales. Twenty-five years later, as the members of this community look back at their past, what do they see? What do their grandchildren think of it? What are the reasons to stay or leave? It is in the village of Dytiaky, on the edge of the “zone”, with these “revenants” and their families, that Delphine Fedoroff explores those questions.
