In this filmed personal diary, Mahdi Fleifel presents the life of three generations living in Ain al-Hilweh, the Palestinian refugee camp in southern Lebanon where he grew up. The images shot by his father in the 80’s and the 90’s also reflect the lives of some 70,000 people who have lived in this small square kilometer for over 60 years. It’s with tact and humor that the director talks about his family and friends everyday life and especially about his long-time friend Abu Eyad.
Mahdi Fleifel is a Palestinian filmmaker and visual artist based in London. He was born in Dubai, raised in a refugee camp in Lebanon and later in the suburbs of Elsinore, Denmark.
