A completely new competition opens this year at the MILLENIUM Festival. The “Belgian Cinema” Competition offers a panorama of the best contemporary Belgian documentaries. This showcase of the work of famous experts in the sector of documentary cinema close to us will culminate in the “Belgian Cinema” award.
Freddy sartor, a film critic, began working for Film En Televisie in 1978. in 1985, he became a member of the editorial board of this important monthly cinema magazine. He then became editor of MediaFilm. He then subsequently decided to change the title of this magazine to Cinemagie. He is a member of the Belgian Film Press Association (UPCB), which represents the international Federation of the Film Press in Belgium and has been spreading the 7th art in the media for 90 years.
After graduating with a master’s degree in Germanic philology and training in journalism, Christie Huysmans worked in the insurance industry for 11 years. In addition to her professional activities, she pursued her studies in the evening and obtained a Certificate in Professional Consulting at INFAC (ISG) and a postgraduate degree in marketing communication at ICHEC. For the past ten years, she has devoted herself to writing. Passionate about cinema, she became a member of the ASBL CinéFemme in 2013 and collaborates actively by writing chronicles, briefs and interviews, all published on the site cinefemme.be. In 2015, she joined the UCC (Union of Film Critics) and participated in several Festivals as a member of the Jury. She is also part of the team of columnists for «Les 4 sans coups», aired monthly on RCF.
Graduated in Romance languages and literatures and Cultural management at ULB, Hubert Heyrendt dedicated himself to journalism after his studies. Joining “La Libre Belgique» in 1999, he works for the film section in 2002. He covers festivals in Berlin and Venise, while also being a jury member (short Film Festival in Brussels, Fantastic Film Festival in Gérardmer...). moreover, Hubert cosigned with his wife the gastronomic section of «La Libre» and «La cuisine à quatre mains», a food blog, while signing restaurant reviews for the revue “Trends-Tendances”.
